I blame it all on www.amazon.com , that's were I first found Harold Payson's book "Build the New Instant Boats", filled with Phil Bolger & Friends easy to build designs.

It all started with a few heart attacks and a  quad by-pass in the winter of '99-2000. I was laid up for weeks, feeling like a frog split open on a dissecting table, the internet was there. The great
world-wide-waste of time beckoned. Dammit!

I had always been interested in boats, but never seriously considered building one. Payson and Bolger seduced me into thinking I could.

Or perhaps it was just the Tylenol 3's and rum.
"Things go better with rum!" ought to be a Capt. Morgan advertising theme, or for West System Epoxy. Anyway, it worked!

The magic of Bolger and the instant boats is that an incompetent carpenter who hasn't built anything since a crooked doghouse in high school, lo' those many years ago, can actually build and launch a unique, usable, safe and strong craft. I know, I did it, with a little help from my friends.
